"What a joy it is to experience the wondrous years of Pauli, the 'Okie' youth of 'Specially Not No Chocolate. Author Claude Earl Jones knows how to tell a tale with a dramatic punch, but he can also evoke the delectable taste of pilfered candy or the indelible imprint of sexual awakening.
"What moved me most was the urgency with which Pauli must seek out the right spot to bury his first dog, Anchor, or as the boy says: "...to find a special place for my heart." The particular use of that phrase implies that even in our early years, we shed precious parts of ourselves.
"No wonder Pauli's favorite aunt calls him 'Huck'."

Get your popcorn, a comfortable chair and prepare to enter a world that too many have forgotten and too many never knew.
'Specially Not
No Chocolate will leave you wanting to know more about Pauli and what adventures await him in the next chapter.
This book is in the spirit
of Mark Twain; Samuel Clemens would have felt in very good company with a colleague who can "spin" tales in his style. Enjoy!

I have just finished reading 'Specially Not No Chocolate. I was amazed at the effect these wonderful tales have on me.
I found myself laughing and crying at the same time … sometimes in the same sentence. Memories flood over me of my own childhood.
Reminiscent of Mark Twain, 'Specially Not No Chocolate is the type of book that one can read over and over and I will be sharing it with my grandchildren. It is a magical gift to our world. Refreshing and fun!

Claude Earl Jones is not only an intense creative actor, but has now revealed for our reading delight his excellent and masterful storytelling, as well!
From the moment I first began to read Taleswapper until I completed it, I was amazed at how much this native Oklahoman's writing style is reminiscent of a Missourian from a century past, Mark Twain.
If you want sheer entertainment and time spent recalling your youth, I recommend it highly!

"These are the stories you love to hear grandpa tell over and over again because they bring you back to a simple time of honest, pure innocence."
